This article provides a general overview about how to use the high-level features of the Site Manager tool. Once you understand how to manage your documents using one of the tools it will be easy to manager either. The follow is a general overview the tools, please see the specific How To articles for step-by-step instructions and more detail.
Each tool has a list of all of the documents for that tool that are found on your site. Just above the list is a “New Document” link, you can select this link to add a new document of that type. I.e. a new News document from Manage News & Promotions or a new Staff Member document from Manage Staff Members.
For each document in the list the document name or title is displayed along with a indicator if the document is published and the date & time the document was last modified. Each of these column headers can be clicked to sort the list based on that column. The Workflow step column is reserved for a possible future enhancement. We will discuss the Publish column in more detail in the How To documents.
If your site has more the 25 documents for the tool at the bottom left corner of the list you will see a set of numbers. By clicking on the number you can navigate to different pages of displaying more documents. I.e. clicking on 2 will display documents 26-50.
For each document in the list you will find two icons in the Actions column. The Pencil icon will open the document up so you can modify its contents. The ‘X’ icon will delete the document from your web site. When you attempt to delete a document you will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the document. Click ‘Cancel’ if you do not wish to delete the document.
For more detail on modifying and/or adding documents please see the related How To articles.
